This Bethesda company is betting on quantum physics as the answer to stronger data encryption

Bethesda-based Quantum Xchange has raised a $10 million Series A round to build a new fiber-optic network that protects sensitive information using encryption that won’t be susceptible to computational hacking.

The small company faces several challenges, not least the sheer volume of competitors selling defenses at a time when cyber crime costs the global economy $600 billion annually.
