As organizations move to modernize their networks and prepare for a post-quantum world, there is an urgent need to plan and prepare now for encryption failure from quantum computers.

As Harvest Now. Decrypt Later attacks from humans and autonomous AIaccelerate, encrypted data is being stolen now to be decrypted later with quantum computers.

Because all encryption becomes vulnerable over time, we must plan for the reality of replacing algorithms more than once –and at a faster pace – as next-gen computing comes of age. This will require crypto agility while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations and business as usual.

Our solution to mitigate threats from quantum and AI, Phio TX, will be featured at Cisco Live Amsterdam on Feb 9-13. For Quantum XChange, this is an opportunity to demonstrate Phio TX, a Cisco-integrated quantum-safe key delivery platform, and address the question every Cisco customer faces: What happens when an algorithm breaks?

Because of AI and quantum, we should expect that even PQCs will be broken over time. Organizations need to be able to rapidly deploy PQCs at a global scale and change vulnerable algorithms on the fly without downtime. This level of agility, resilience and continuity will best enable organizations to withstand quantum threats.

Showcasing Innovation at Cisco Live Amsterdam

Phio TX is natively built on PQC and high entropy sources such as Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) quantum technologies to provide crypto agility over the network. PhioTX integrates with Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) providers to enable the following key use cases:

  1. Extending QKD reach beyond its inherent distance and topology limitations using PQC-secured IP networks as a complementary transport layer for QKD keys.
  2. Deploying a hybrid PQC/QKD architecture, where QKD is used where available (e.g. metro or campus links) with PQC to ensure continuity, resiliency, and interoperability across wider or more complex environments, especially where fiber is not feasible.

“At Cisco Innovation Labs, we are committed to driving innovation in post-quantum security. Together with Quantum XChange, we are exploring future-looking crypto-agility solutions backed by a hybrid PQC and BYOK/QKD approach to ensure seamless and instant transition between cryptographic methods in response to the evolving landscape of quantum computing threats.” Xavier Azemar, Head of Cisco Innovation Labs Spain

Phio TX will be featured in the following Cisco Live sessions:

Fast track to Post-Quantum Security [SPC-1512]

Monday, Feb 9, 1:30 PM – 1:40 PM CET
Advances in quantum computing create an existential threat to the cryptographic foundations of today’s digital infrastructure. In this session attendees will learn more about preparing their infrastructure for post-quantum.

Post-Quantum Hybrid PQC+QKD for Crypto Agility [BRKETI-2667]

Thursday, Feb 12, 10:15 AM – 11:15 AM CET

As the world accelerates towards post-quantum cryptography (PQC), organizations face the complex challenge of securing their networks against future quantum threats.

This session, designed at Cisco Innovation Labs, will demystify the leading approaches: the mathematical rigor of PQC and the quantum physics certainty of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), including the Bring Your Own Keys (BYOK) paradigm. We will explore how these distinct methods can be combined into resilient hybrid solutions, emphasizing practical implementation and achieving true crypto agility.

Quantum Safe Cryptography (and Why You Need It) [BRKSEC-2175]

Wednesday, Feb 11, 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM CET
This session will be an introduction for customers who need to learn about Quantum Resistance, Readiness, and ultimately a Quantum-Safe network that protects their data in transit.

We will show the customer what their path looks like for how to achieve a future implementation of Post Quantum algorithms for their existing IKEv2/IPSEC, and TLS 1.3 based operations, including what they can do today to meet readiness mandates.
