In a recent article, Quantum Computing Report, highlights a pioneer in commercial quantum key distribution, Quantum Xchange. With the introduction of a new product called Phio™ Trusted Xchange (TX), the team at Quantum Xchange uses an out-of-band symmetric key technique to deliver encryption keys.
Using classical transmission media for communication, Phio TX is not limited on distance in the way that quantum key distribution QKD transmissions occur over fiber optic cable. The Phio TX complements the previously release of the Phio QK system to deliver secure data within their US East Coast network.
