Stay ahead of the quantum threat. Our QKD makes unbreakable key exchange possible for commercial organizations – and we’re the only company providing point-to-multi point transmissions across any distance.

What is Phio QK?

Phio Quantum Key (QK) by Quantum Xchange secures your critical communications, providing the hardware you need for Quantum Key Distribution (QKD).

Phio QK leverages the fundamental properties of quantum mechanics — using photons of light, not electronic bits — to physically transfer a shared secret between two entities.

This solves the fundamental problem with modern-day encryption: the ability for keys to be intercepted, corrupted, or exposed during transmission. Once a quantum key is generated and shared, it can be used to encrypt data, which can then be sent over a fiber cable, the Internet or other networks using Phio TX.

The Impending Quantum Reality: Do We Really Need QKD Now?

Quantum computers could have the power to instantly break even the strongest encryption protocols within the next 5-10 years. We don’t have that much time because cybercriminals are already harvesting encrypted data today and holding onto it until quantum computers arrive to decrypt it, practically within minutes. Developing other security measures against quantum computers is also a long-term process, so it makes sense to implement a quantum-proof solution like QKD now.

Making QKD Viable, at Any Distance

QKD has been limited to a transmission distance of 100km, but now with Quantum Xchange’s Phio TX, the distance is unlimited. While previous QKD solutions were point-to-point and required dedicated fiber, Phio TX introduces a self-organizing mesh network of secure nodes with adaptive routing and fault tolerance for point-to-multi-point transmissions across any distance.
