RSA Conference 2019 Interview with John Prisco

Disclaimer: This post was written when Quantum Xchange was focused on building and selling the first quantum network in the U.S.

We have since pivoted our business and product offering, with the invention of Phio Trusted Xchange (TX), a first-of-its-kind quantum-safe, out-of-band key delivery system. While our technology offering can support QKD deployments, we are not a quantum communications provider or reseller. Our quantum-safe key exchange supports quantum keys generated from any source(QRNG or QKD) protected by any method (all PQC key encapsulation algorithms).

At the recent RSA Conference in San Francisco, more than 50,000 attendees connected with people and insights on how to stay ahead of cyber threats. This annual conference provides a platform and network for thousands of peers who strive to protect data now and in the future.

Roadway Media’s Pallab Chatterjee talked with John Prisco, CEO of Quantum Xchange to discuss the concept of quantum key distribution.  During the interview, Prisco explains how businesses can prepare now for the future threat of quantum computers. On point, Prisco talks about steps organizations should take to upgrade encryption firmware, which some now support quantum key technology.

While quantum computers are surfacing as the new threat, Quantum Xchange is actively testing 800 km of fiber optic cable from Boston to Washington, DC with the quantum key distribution method. Currently, secure data is being carried across the Hudson River from lower Manhattan through the Holland Tunnel into New Jersey with the help of quantum key distribution.
