During the interview, Prisco explains how businesses can prepare now for the future threat of quantum computers. On point, Prisco talks about steps organizations should take to upgrade encryption firmware, which some now support quantum key technology.
While quantum computers are surfacing as the new threat, Quantum Xchange is actively testing 800 km of fiber optic cable from Boston to Washington, DC with the quantum key distribution method. Currently, secure data is being carried across the Hudson River from lower Manhattan through the Holland Tunnel into New Jersey with the help of quantum key distribution.
